Trump accuses Cruz's father of helping JFK's assassin - POLITICO: "Donald Trump on Tuesday alleged that Ted Cruz’s father was with John F. Kennedy’s assassin shortly before he murdered the president, parroting a National Enquirer story claiming that Rafael Cruz was pictured with Lee Harvey Oswald handing out pro-Fidel Castro pamphlets in New Orleans in 1963.

A Cruz campaign spokesperson told the Miami Herald, which pointed out numerous flaws in the Enquirer story, that it was “another garbage story in a tabloid full of garbage.”" 'via Blog this'

George Zimmerman gun auctions for ...: "News 6 has learned that the online auction site for the gun that George Zimmerman used to shoot and kill Trayvon Martin that was open to the public was a fake auction and that a real auction for pre-qualified bidders only was underway privately.

The United Gun Group, which hosted the auction on its website, told News 6 that they had at least one verified offer of $120,000 for Zimmerman's gun and that they had 22 bidders on its real auction. A total of 42 bids were made."

Mr. Bradley’s doubts tell a story about the fog of war, the efforts of a son to memorialize his father and the apparent willingness of the Marines to at first brush aside questions about one of their most historic moments.

The photograph was taken by Joe Rosenthal, a photographer for The Associated Press, during one of the bloodiest battles of the war. It was splashed across the front pages of newspapers throughout the country less than 48 hours after it was taken, and was an immediate source of patriotism and controversy. President Harry S. Truman used it to sell bonds to fund the war, Mr. Rosenthal brushed back accusations that it had been staged, and questions arose — and were apparently answered — about who was really in it.
