Michael Slager: Man says he filed previous conduct complaint - NY Daily News: "Mario Givens, a black resident of North Charleston, S.C., says he was attacked and arrested for no reason by Officer Michael Slager in 2013. When he filed a complaint about excessive force, it went nowhere.
But now that Slager has been charged with the fatal, filmed shooting of Walter Scott, another unarmed black man, Givens is going public with his story.
"It could have been prevented," Givens, 33, told the Associated Press about Scott's death. "If they had just listened to me and investigated what happened that night, this man might be alive today."
Givens says Slager showed up at his house before dawn one September morning and banged on the door.
Wearing only a t-shirt and boxers, Givens opened the door and saw Slager on his porch."
