The reason

Timeline in Afghanistan: 2002 to 2010. It adds up to eight years not 18 months.

• The reason why the ‘18 months’ is important is because they don’t want us to be occupiers. From the Generals on the ground, I have heard it said that they don’t like us there.

• We want to stay over there because of our reasons, not theirs. The longer we foment anger the more recruits move to the terrorist to defeat us, not today but for the next generation.

All day I heard people say no timeline, even during the hearing today. I say that those people haven’t been deployed to anywhere. Even when I was in Macedonia they asked every two weeks, when is the US leaving? In Kosovo there were scared for us to leave, because of the Serbs, but that wanted to be independent of us.
