WASHINGTON: Senate Republicans promised Wednesday to block legislative action on every issue being considered by the lame-duck Congress until the row over extending the Bush-era tax cuts is resolved and an extension of current government funding is approved.
The Republicans, having won control of the US House and six new Senate seats in November, cited the results of the election, insisting it was an endorsement of GOP ideas and a rejection of Obama policy.
