The First Ladies Club: Michelle Obama, Laura Bush share stage at Bush Institute event in Dar es Salaam, separated by politics but connected by membership in exclusive circle of presidential wives - NY Daily News: "Michelle Obama and Laura Bush united Tuesday in Tanzania for a conference on women's issues — two women from opposite ends of the political spectrum who are bound together by membership in a select club of less than 50 women, since the founding of the U.S., who have been married to a serving President.

Calling the role of first lady "the best job in the world," Michelle answered questions on Tuesday about her life in Washington, as Laura looked on.

"There are prison-like elements, but it's a really nice prison," Michelle said. "While people are sorting through our shoes and our hair ... whether we cut it or not ... We take our bangs and we stand in front of important things the world needs to see.""
